Product Owner (100%)

Location: Basel Office - hirify.global Headquarters; fully onsite

hirify.global is an open access scholarly publishing organization that operates peer-reviewed journals and digital platforms for the global scientific community.

What you will do

• Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and stakeholder needs.
• Translate business requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, backlog refinement, and the team’s delivery cadence.
• Collaborate with development teams to turn product strategy into measurable deliverables.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, delivery timelines, blockers, dependencies, and risks.
• Track delivery and engagement metrics, run KPI reviews, and incorporate performance, scalability, maintainability, and privacy requirements into prioritization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in product ownership, backlog management, or a similar product delivery role.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, backlog management, sprint planning, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of user story creation, acceptance criteria, and value-based prioritization.
• Experience with product analytics, KPI tracking, experimentation, and data-informed decision-making; familiarity with Jira and Microsoft 365.
• Professional English communication skills at minimum C1 level and ability to work fully onsite in Basel.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Product Owner certification such as PSPO or CSPO.
• Experience with user engagement or digital product environments.
