TL;DR
Senior Structural Engineer (Buildings) (Structural Engineering): Designing and delivering structural engineering projects for complex buildings across aviation, sport, culture, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure with an accent on structural analysis, Australian Standards, sustainable design, and multidisciplinary coordination. Focus on leading project delivery, managing technical documentation and stakeholder requirements, and mentoring junior engineers.

Location: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia; hybrid work model. Australian Citizenship with current or previous defence clearance is necessary. Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an hirify.global office.

What you will do

  • Lead and coordinate structural design and project delivery across aviation, sport, culture and entertainment, education, healthcare, and transport infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review structural analyses, calculations, design reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code, client requirements, and applicable project constraints.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, efficient, and sustainable structural solutions.
  • Manage project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ideally 5+ years of structural engineering experience focused on complex building structures.
  • Experience delivering structural design projects in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency with SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT, and Structural Toolkit.
  • Seismic Structures experience and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Australian Citizenship with current or previous defence clearance is necessary. NSQEP is highly preferred but not essential.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP2000, RAM, IdeaStatiCa, and Grasshopper.
  • NSQEP qualification or experience.
