TL;DR
Employment Consultant (WorkBC case management): Supporting clients in finding and maintaining sustainable employment through eligibility assessments, individualized action plans, employer outreach, and referrals with an accent on client coaching, partnership building, and local labour-market knowledge. Focus on managing 80–100 client cases, documenting progress in ICM, identifying sector opportunities, and delivering employment outcomes.

Location: Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada; WorkBC YWCA Tri-Cities Catchment. Travel to job fairs, employer networking opportunities, and community or employer events is expected.

Salary: $54,300 CAD per year

What you will do

  • Assess client eligibility and ability to seek work as part of individualized action plans.
  • Manage approximately 80–100 client cases in ICM, including eligibility documentation, progress records, referrals, and outcomes.
  • Coach, motivate, and support clients through employment-focused training and job placement opportunities.
  • Research employers and sector opportunities, maintain the centre job board, and contact employers on behalf of clients.
  • Build relationships with internal and external partners, community agencies, and employers.
  • Attend job fairs and host community and employer events.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Required experience in case management.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring clients, including individuals facing complex barriers and inclusion groups.
  • Experience building partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government assistance programs, job-search techniques, and career-development tools.
  • Strong digital literacy, including social media and Microsoft Office Suite, with adherence to confidentiality and professional codes of conduct.

Nice to have

  • Certified Career Development Practitioner designation.
  • Experience with provincial government tools, ICM, and online employment services.
