TL;DR
Legal Counsel (Technology): Reviewing and negotiating commercial, technology, procurement, carrier, confidentiality, and bespoke agreements with an accent on practical legal advice, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder support. Focus on managing cross-jurisdictional matters, assessing legislative changes, resolving disputes, and developing scalable legal templates and guidance.

Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; hybrid workplace

What you will do

  • Review and negotiate services, software, procurement, carrier, confidentiality, and other commercial agreements.
  • Draft bespoke agency, referral, commission, and other business agreements.
  • Provide practical legal advice on business operations, employment matters, regulatory compliance, privacy, and information security.
  • Review advertising, promotional, website, publication, service, and campaign materials.
  • Monitor legislation and regulatory changes, communicate business impact, and assist with disputes.
  • Support legal operations, special projects, templates, guidance materials, training resources, and internal stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in contract review, negotiation of master-level agreements, and business-related legal support.
  • Qualified to practice in the jurisdiction of residence and in good standing.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, commercial judgment, and plain-English drafting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with stakeholders across global teams, jurisdictions, and time zones.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and build trusted relationships.
  • High integrity and professional accountability.

Nice to have

  • In-house legal experience, preferably in the IT or technology industry.
  • Experience in a sales-driven or data center business.
  • Privacy, information security, regulatory, or employment law experience.
