Propulsion Test Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop and execute engine- and component-level tests to evaluate propulsion hardware performance.
• Create test plans, objectives, schedules, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Lead daily test operations and prepare test reports, design reviews, and performance analyses.
• Conduct risk assessments and define mitigation actions to protect personnel and hardware during test campaigns.
• Interpret P&IDs, generate test sequences, and balance test risks, requirements, and test-bench limitations.
• Process test data with development engineers to guide campaigns and plan future tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in propulsion testing or a related field.
• Proficiency in propulsion chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with engine testing or equivalent.
• Experience with propulsion-testing simulation tools such as CEA, plus exposure to CAD software and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Background in cryogenic propulsion.
• Proficiency in Python.
