CA Industrial Energy Engineer

Location: Remote - California; strong preference for candidates in the Bay Area or Los Angeles area. Travel throughout California and occasional overnight stays are required.

Salary: $106,300–$121,500 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead site visits at commercial and industrial facilities to identify energy-saving opportunities and collect data for savings calculations.
• Develop and deliver energy-efficiency and integrated demand-side management solutions for Strategic Energy Management programs.
• Calculate and report energy, demand, and greenhouse-gas savings in accordance with the California SEM M&V Guide.
• Evaluate HVAC systems, controls, and Building Automation Systems to identify efficiency opportunities.
• Develop savings methodologies, apply IPMVP measurement and verification options, and defend custom project savings.
• Provide project oversight, quality assurance, technical direction, and client relationship management.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 8–10+ years of experience in energy-efficiency consulting, program implementation, or consulting engineering.
• Independent field experience conducting energy audits and verification inspections.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems and/or retro-commissioning.
• Strong technical and non-technical writing and communication skills, including presenting findings to diverse audiences.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship or immigration support.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• Measurement and verification certification.
• Knowledge of Strategic Energy Management.
• Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data visualization and analysis tools.
