TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Mobile Applications) (iOS/Android, BLE, AI): Building native mobile applications that communicate with implanted cardiac devices, process physiological data, and deliver secure health experiences with an accent on Bluetooth Low Energy, on-device analytics, encryption, and cross-platform architecture. Focus on designing reliable device sessions, integrating CoreML/TFLite inference, coordinating firmware and AI interfaces, and owning the mobile release pipeline.
Location: Galway, County Galway, Ireland; hybrid work model
Salary: €65,600–€98,400 per year, plus eligibility for the Incentive Plan.

What you will do
- Design and develop advanced native mobile features for iOS and Android.
- Build BLE device session management, including discovery, pairing, reconnection, and the BluSync command-response pipeline.
- Develop encrypted local storage and on-device health analytics using CoreML and TensorFlow Lite.
- Build accessible native interfaces with SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose and integrate HealthKit, Health Connect, cloud backup, and billing services.
- Define mobile architecture, improve performance, testing, observability, and release reliability while troubleshooting complex issues.
- Coordinate with firmware, AI, product, design, backend, verification, and leadership teams; own mobile releases through store submission.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree at Level 8 NFQ in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Production mobile engineering experience, including application architecture, design, and delivery.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of Swift, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, Java, C#, or .NET, with experience using relevant mobile development tools.
- Expertise in iOS or Android Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is required.
- Experience leading code reviews and technical discussions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across functions.
- Knowledge of mobile architecture patterns, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, performance optimization, and secure engineering practices.
Nice to have
- SQL, relational or non-relational databases, API design, and integration patterns.
- Observability, crash analytics, and performance monitoring tools.
- Flutter or React Native experience.
- Experience in regulated or healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with SonarQube, JFrog, Figma, Pendo, Dynatrace, Objective-C, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
