Principal Engineer, Market Risk Technology (AI/NLP)

Location: New Jersey, United States — onsite hybrid

Base compensation: $103,330–$128,656 per year

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable pipelines processing billions of trade-level Present Value calculations from market risk stress engines.
• Develop and optimize large-scale aggregation jobs with Apache Spark.
• Design intelligent APIs for aggregated and non-aggregated risk data access.
• Integrate NLP capabilities into query-based data exploration interfaces.
• Model massive datasets in Apache Pinot, Apache Druid, and Trino, and build dashboards with fast drill-down capabilities.
• Partner with Front Office, Quantitative, and Risk Management stakeholders to deliver analytical solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative or technical field.
• Expert hands-on experience with big data technologies, especially Apache Spark.
• Experience with high-performance OLAP databases such as Apache Pinot, Apache Druid, or Trino.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and/or Scala, with expert-level SQL.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience or strong interest in applying NLP and AI-first development to data access and analytics.
