Senior Autonomy Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Irving, Texas, United States, five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The role requires up to 10% travel.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year

What you will do

• Research, design, prototype, and productionize localization algorithms for autonomous and semiautonomous systems.
• Develop production-quality C++ software for positioning, altitude estimation, navigation, and real-time autonomy.
• Implement filters using perception, inertial, and GNSS inputs, including relative localization against terrain and equipment.
• Contribute to requirements generation, localization architecture, documentation, coding, product quality, and validation.
• Support functional safety software design and validation.
• Collaborate with and mentor localization team members while troubleshooting complex software issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in robotics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
• 4+ years of robotics or autonomous-solution experience.
• Strong C++ proficiency and experience designing, debugging, and deploying production-quality software for robotics, autonomy, localization, navigation, or real-time systems.
• Fluency in Python, strong engineering practices, and debugging and profiling skills.
• Proven experience implementing Error State, Kalman, and Extended Kalman filtering solutions.
• Knowledge of inertial measurement technology, inertial-based navigation or guidance systems, ROS, 3D geometry, linear algebra, statistical error modeling, coordinate transformations, vehicle dynamics, and physics-based modeling.
