Associate Producer, Top Story with Tom Llamas

Location: New York, New York; hybrid role with office attendance at least 4 days per week. Working hours are 12 p.m.–8 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Edit video, day-of-air packages, and graphic elements for a live news show under tight deadlines.
• Research, write, and produce accurate editorial copy with producers and correspondents.
• Collaborate with executive producers, producers, correspondents, and anchors.
• Pitch timely and compelling ideas for current and future segments.
• Quality-check video content and update senior producers on developments in assigned stories.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in broadcast, streaming, or cable news, preferably on live daily shows or in a control room.
• Comfort with digital video editing and a commitment to developing editing skills.
• Strong journalism, writing, research, current-events knowledge, and editorial judgment.
• Ability to work calmly and accurately under intense deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Willingness to work in New York, New York and attend the office at least 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience shooting in the field with DSLR cameras.
• Video editing experience with Avid and Premiere.
• Familiarity with iNEWS.
• Experience working in collaborative live-news environments.
