Lead Integration Engineer - 12 Month FTC (APIs/Event-Driven Architecture): Designing, delivering, and supporting scalable integration solutions connecting source systems, the Accounts platform, and downstream consumers with an accent on resilient APIs, event-driven communication, and secure interoperability. Focus on defining integration standards, governing schemas and interface contracts, and building reliable error handling, retry, replay, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.

What you will do
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of scalable, resilient, and maintainable system integrations.
- Define and promote integration patterns, standards, and best practices across the technology estate.
- Design and support API-led and event-driven architectures, including event publication and consumption.
- Develop and maintain APIs, interfaces, schemas, contracts, and integration services connecting source systems, the Accounts platform, and downstream consumers.
- Ensure resilience, scalability, security, observability, performance, monitoring, and operational recovery across integrations.
- Lead complex integration investigations and collaborate with architects, engineers, product owners, and other technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong experience in API and integration development.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous communication, messaging, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of API management, interface contracts, schemas, service interoperability, and loosely coupled architectures.
- Experience with operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and error handling, retry, and replay mechanisms.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, including clean code, testing, version control, and CI/CD.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, document technical concepts, and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
