TL;DR
System Engineer - Data Platform (APAC Region) (Oracle/OCI/AWS): Administering and transforming enterprise database platforms across production and non-production environments with an accent on Oracle operations, cloud database engineering, automation, and service reliability. Focus on designing Infrastructure-as-Code, executing migrations and disaster recovery activities, optimizing performance, and resolving complex incidents in a follow-the-sun support model.

What you will do
- Install, configure, administer, maintain, and upgrade enterprise Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other database platforms.
- Execute database migrations, upgrades, patching, cloning, refreshes, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
- Support Oracle database technologies including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, GoldenGate, OEM, Exadata, and Oracle Linux.
- Engineer database platforms across OCI, AWS, and hybrid environments, including monitoring, IAM, networking, and recovery services.
- Build automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Python, shell scripting, and PowerShell.
- Participate in on-call rotations, resolve critical incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support change and release management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, Cloud DBA, Database Administrator, or Database Systems Engineer.
- Strong enterprise Oracle administration experience, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, GoldenGate, Exadata, and performance tuning.
- Experience supporting Oracle workloads in OCI and databases hosted in AWS environments.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills and experience supporting mission-critical systems with strict SLA requirements.
- Knowledge of database security, compliance, operational governance, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Nice to have
- Experience with or core banking platforms.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- ITIL-based operations, OCI cloud migrations, and technology modernization experience.
- Oracle, OCI, AWS, Terraform, or ITIL certifications.
