Software Engineer - Infrastructure (m/f/d) (GCP & Platform)

What you will do

• Set infrastructure direction by identifying high-leverage problems, scoping initiatives, and driving pragmatic platform improvements.
• Own and operate GCP infrastructure, including Cloud Run, networking, IAM, TLS, and firewall rules.
• Contribute to Python and TypeScript backend systems such as RBAC and job queues.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, staging, end-to-end testing, production releases, and rollback processes.
• Run on-call and incident response, manage severity processes, and improve uptime, observability, and monitoring.
• Partner with IT and Security on vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, infrastructure hardening, and documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or platform engineering.
• Strong experience with a major cloud platform, preferably GCP, including compute, storage, networking, IAM, and container-based deployments.
• Experience building and managing containerized applications with Docker or similar tools.
• Proficiency in Python and experience working in production backend or data-oriented codebases.
• Experience with production databases such as MongoDB or Redis, distributed workloads, queues, event-driven systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Swiss or EU citizenship is required; non-EU candidates cannot be supported. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are also required.

• Experience with compute-intensive or scientific simulation workloads.
