Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Singapore; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office, as confirmed by the Hiring Manager

What you will do

• Develop and deliver AI-powered tools for the hirify.global Resolve Online dispute management platform.
• Design scalable services and components using microservices, event-driven messaging, APIs, and approved architectural patterns.
• Build AI systems for intelligent code analysis, test optimization, automated defect detection, and developer productivity.
• Translate business challenges into measurable machine learning metrics and explain model decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Write maintainable, testable code; develop automated unit and component tests; and address defects, performance issues, and reliability gaps.
• Participate in production releases, operational readiness, research, prototyping, and production rollouts while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, PhD-level qualification with no experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong software engineering experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, algorithms, and scalable architecture.
• Experience with Python and machine learning fundamentals, including data preparation, predictive models, model evaluation, and performance improvement.
• Experience with generative AI coding assistants, prompt engineering, AI-supported code review, test generation, documentation, and developer productivity workflows.
• Knowledge of large language models, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, data privacy, responsible AI, and AI orchestration patterns.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, cloud-native platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, secure coding, DevSecOps, monitoring, and incident response.

Nice to have

• Experience with scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, Jupyter notebooks, DB2, MySQL, performance tuning, and schema design.
• Experience in financial services, payments, dispute processing, or other high-volume, mission-critical enterprise platforms.
