Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Payments)

Location: Onsite at CMC Creative Space office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate scalable backend services for the FundsCore Payments platform.
• Own features and projects from requirements clarification and technical design through testing, launch, monitoring, and post-launch operations.
• Lead technical discussions and design reviews, balancing reliability, latency, throughput, maintainability, and cost.
• Improve observability through metrics, logs, traces, SLIs, SLOs, alerting, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, documentation, and engineering practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers, participate in on-call rotations, handle production incidents, and conduct technical interviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related advanced degree.
• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience and strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in Golang, including concurrency features, standard libraries, application optimization, and production development.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including database performance, query tuning, and reliability.
• Experience with AWS or GCP and designing scalable, internet-scale microservices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, TDD, CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, and unit testing frameworks.

Nice to have

• Payments domain expertise or the ability to learn the domain quickly.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
• Experience using AI tools for incident investigation, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and system design.
