Commercial Manager - Energy

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; hybrid workplace

hirify.global is a New Zealand dairy co-operative owned by dairy farmers, with manufacturing operations undergoing an energy transition toward more sustainable and secure fuels.

What you will do

• Develop long-term sourcing strategies for electricity, gas, biomass, coal, and transport fuels.
• Negotiate, execute, and manage contracts with energy suppliers.
• Build and manage relationships with energy suppliers and wider energy market participants.
• Provide market insights supporting energy transition, decarbonisation planning, and regulatory advocacy.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, trading, and the Head of Energy Procurement to create and protect value.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• At least ten years of experience in energy markets and/or strategic procurement in large organisations.
• Expertise in portfolio or category strategy development, relationship management, and contract negotiation.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, including engagement with senior executives.
• Experience with cost modelling, risk management, and analytical tools.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to solve complex commercial problems.
