Systems/Software Engineer III (L2 Protocols - STP, ERPS, LAG, MC-LAG, VPLS)

What you will do

• Develop next-generation access and aggregation router platforms for Metro, 5G, and mobile backhaul deployments.
• Build product functionality using JunOS or Junos EVO software architecture.
• Collaborate with product management, systems teams, and solution test teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Provide engineering assistance to the Juniper Technical Assistance Team during critical customer escalations.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 14 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming and debugging.
• Experience with Layer 2 protocols and technologies, including STP, ERPS, 802.1X, LAG, MC-LAG, VPLS, bridging, and switching.
• Experience with Unix/Linux systems, user-space processes, kernels, socket programming, and inter-process communication.
• Knowledge of TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols, IGMP and MLD snooping, PIM, NG MVPN, EVPN, and service provider networking.
