Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States
Salary: $140,333–$179,314 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards

What you will do
- Develop and maintain integrated thermal analysis models for spacecraft vehicles.
- Create tools and systems for thermal model and flight-data processing.
- Ensure spacecraft thermal performance remains within operating and survival limits through passive and active thermal control.
- Collaborate with hardware, production, software, mission operations, and other spacecraft disciplines to improve vehicle systems.
- Plan and execute Thermal Vacuum testing, anchor models to test and flight data, and guide thermal bakeout, Vehicle-In-The-Loop, and propulsion hot-fire testing.
- Work independently, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical peer reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing passive and active thermal control systems.
- Proficiency in detailed thermal analysis using Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT.
- Experience anchoring thermal models to test or flight data and planning and executing Thermal Vacuum Chamber testing.
- Experience with MATLAB or an equivalent tool for data processing and task automation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Experience across a complete spacecraft lifecycle, from concept and design through production, integration, testing, and mission operations.
- Experience with thermal design and analysis of reentry systems.
- Experience taking ownership of projects and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with thermal margins and qualification test requirements in SMC-S-016.
