TL;DR
HMIS Assistant (Health Information Management/DHIS2): Supporting health information management, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and reporting for a sexual and reproductive health project in Puntland and North-East States with an accent on data quality, health facility reporting, and community feedback systems. Focus on validating and analyzing project data, maintaining health information systems, conducting data quality assessments, and strengthening evidence-based decision-making.

What you will do

  • Collect, compile, verify, analyze, and manage sexual and reproductive health project data from health facilities and outreach teams.
  • Maintain project databases and electronic health information systems, including reporting into DHIS2 and other approved systems.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor reports, dashboards, indicator tracking sheets, and data summaries.
  • Conduct monitoring visits, data quality assessments, audits, validation exercises, and corrective action planning.
  • Support community feedback and response mechanisms, including tracking complaints, analyzing feedback trends, and following up on cases.
  • Train and coach health facility staff on HMIS tools, reporting procedures, data quality, documentation, and data use.

Requirements

  • University degree in Public Health, Health Information Management, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in HMIS, monitoring and evaluation, or health data management.
  • Experience with DHIS2, Kobo Toolbox, CommCare, ODK, Excel, or other data management systems.
  • Experience supporting health, sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, or donor-funded programs.
  • Experience with routine monitoring, reporting, accountability, and data quality assurance.
  • Fluent English, both oral and written, is required.

Nice to have

  • Additional training in DHIS2, monitoring and evaluation, data management, HMIS, or public health information systems.
  • Experience with Community Feedback and Response Mechanisms or Accountability to Affected Populations.
