Principal AI & Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite collaboration is generally preferred.

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable, modular, AI-augmented automation frameworks for functional, integration, and performance testing.
• Design self-healing and adaptive testing using anomaly detection, flaky-test prediction, intelligent test selection, and automated test generation.
• Lead quality engineering for cloud-native, microservices-based DOCSIS and PON platforms in the vCMTS ecosystem.
• Integrate continuous testing, validation, and quality gates into CI/CD and DevOps/MLOps pipelines.
• Develop predictive quality analytics using telemetry, logs, production data, simulation, and traffic modeling.
• Mentor engineers and troubleshoot distributed systems through observability, AI-assisted root-cause analysis, and advanced debugging.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Enterprise-grade automation framework development experience with Python, Go, Shell scripting, Linux/Ubuntu, and CLI tools.
• Hands-on experience with network testing and traffic-generation tools such as IXIA or ByteBlower, packet captures, network simulation, and end-to-end performance validation.
• Experience with observability stacks, including logs, metrics, and tracing, and with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Experience applying AI/ML to QA workflows, including test optimization, prioritization, flaky-test detection, self-healing frameworks, and anomaly detection.

• Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native test environments.
• Networking protocols and systems including TCP/UDP, BGP, ISIS, HTTP/S, multicast, switching, and routing.
• Software architecture, object-oriented design patterns, microservices architecture, data engineering, telemetry ingestion, and MLOps.
