TL;DR
Technical Writer (XML/DITA): Creating and maintaining user documentation, manuals, procedural guides, and structured technical content for complex products and processes with an accent on XML-based authoring, DITA compliance, and documentation quality. Focus on managing content in Arbortext and Windchill, validating technical information, and translating complex concepts into clear user-focused instructions.
Location: Hybrid work at VNG - Cais Gaia or VNG - Lake Towers, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal

What you will do
- Develop and maintain user documentation, work instructions, manuals, and procedural guides for technical products and processes.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-focused content.
- Create and maintain XML-based documentation using structured authoring methodologies and produce DITA-compliant content.
- Lead documentation reviews, validation activities, and stakeholder alignment throughout the content lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineers, product specialists, and subject matter experts to gather and validate technical information.
- Manage content in Windchill and Arbortext while supporting documentation quality and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Languages, Literature, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer with mandatory experience creating XML-based technical documentation.
- Mandatory experience with Arbortext and Windchill in a technical documentation and content management environment.
- Strong understanding of structured authoring principles.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain complex technical information.
Nice to have
- Experience with DITA-compliant content, Simplified Technical English, and topic-based or minimalistic writing.
