What you will do
- Underwrite and make decisions on commercial and commercial real estate loan requests within assigned authority.
- Prepare cash flow models, ratio analyses, and repayment capacity evaluations.
- Recommend approval terms and loan structures for requests exceeding assigned authority.
- Communicate credit decisions and conditions to Relationship Managers and other stakeholders.
- Identify alternative structures and terms to mitigate risk and support sound approvals.
- Mentor Credit Specialist 1 employees and support onboarding and skill development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in commercial credit underwriting, loan review, or related banking functions preferred.
- Strong financial analysis skills, including interpreting borrower statements and assessing repayment risk.
- Understanding of commercial credit policy, risk grading, and cash flow lending practices.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, travel when required, and perform essential physical duties.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with credit systems and loan documentation platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as HMDA and ECOA.
