Software Engineering Director – vCMTS (Cloud-Native Networking): Leading the strategy, architecture, and delivery of a high-performance, cloud-native vCMTS platform with an accent on distributed systems, networking, Kubernetes, and production reliability. Focus on designing microservices and data-plane integrations, resolving complex system issues, and scaling engineering teams and software delivery.
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. generally prefers employees to work on-site; remote consideration may be available for candidates living more than 100 miles from the office when the position has a designated virtual option.

What you will do
- Define and execute the vCMTS software strategy in line with the access network roadmap.
- Own planning, execution, release delivery, and lifecycle management for software platforms.
- Contribute to architecture, design decisions, performance optimization, and code reviews for critical components.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues across distributed systems.
- Guide engineering teams in distributed systems, networking, cloud-native development, and operational readiness.
- Lead and scale engineering teams, manage execution across multiple programs, and oversee budgets and resource planning.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including systems and networking expertise and leadership of high-performing R&D teams.
- Experience with distributed systems, Linux, and cloud-native platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or Go.
- Experience with software strategy, large-scale system delivery, reliability, and lifecycle management.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent coursework and professional experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of DOCSIS/PON or broadband access technologies is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with vCMTS or CMTS platforms.
- Familiarity with high-performance networking technologies such as DPDK and SR-IOV.
- Experience applying AI/ML to network optimization, telemetry analytics, or large-scale distributed systems.
