Android Engineer (Kotlin/video streaming): Building Android camera and video experiences for millions of Xfinity customers with an accent on real-time streaming, device interactions, and scalable mobile architecture. Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite collaboration is generally preferred.

What you will do
- Build and maintain Android features for home security camera and video experiences.
- Develop customer-facing mobile functionality for real-time streaming and device interactions.
- Collaborate with product, backend, device, Android, and iOS teams on end-to-end solutions.
- Contribute to application architecture, design reviews, and technical decisions.
- Write clean Kotlin code using modern Android frameworks and improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Debug production issues, participate in code reviews, and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional Android development experience; relevant work experience is listed as 5–7 years.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and experience integrating RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with MVVM or similar architecture patterns.
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with coursework, experience, or extensive related professional experience also considered.
Nice to have
- Experience with video playback or streaming technologies such as ExoPlayer, HLS, WebRTC, or RTSP.
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development tools.
- Understanding of Android permissions, privacy, and application lifecycle.
- Experience building or maintaining large-scale consumer applications.
