Python Engineer (Agentic AI)

Location: Washington, DC — 1325 G ST NW STE 300; onsite collaboration is generally preferred

Salary: $142,651.46–$213,977.19 per year

What you will do

• Develop AI agents, prompts, agentic workflows, and supporting backend infrastructure.
• Write clean, maintainable Python code following established engineering standards.
• Build unit and integration tests to improve agent reliability and prevent regressions.
• Debug development and production issues, including challenges caused by LLM outputs.
• Use Git and CI/CD tools and participate in Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product partners to design, develop, test, and maintain backend services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and an understanding of data structures, RESTful APIs, and backend service architecture.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest and test-aware development.
• Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and Agile environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to LLMs or agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with asyncio or FastAPI.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, asynchronous processing, or message queues.
