Location: Plano, Texas, United States. The role requires the right to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or visa sponsorship. Domestic and international travel of up to 50% is required.

What you will do
- Work with vehicle design teams to minimize the cost impact of part shape changes.
- Design, develop, approve, and manage Tier 1 packaging from vehicle project inception through launch.
- Develop master schedules and coordinate packaging availability for vehicle launches.
- Integrate packaging designs into plant production and delivery plans.
- Collaborate with suppliers, conveyance teams, packaging fabricators, and supply chain stakeholders to create packaging compatible with automation.
- Manage packaging studies, KPIs, model-change budgets, expenditures, and post-launch improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Packaging, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or at least one year of equivalent engineering experience.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to develop operating procedures, measure results using KPIs, and support safety, quality, and cost reduction objectives.
- Project management skills.
- Daily overtime of 15%–25% is expected, with more overtime during model-change activities.
Nice to have
- Production System experience and understanding.
- Budget management, supply chain, packaging design, or CAD/CATIA data manipulation experience.
- Knowledge of packaging development processes and their integration into NAMC operations.
- Completion of TBP and JKK.
- Experience communicating with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
