Software Engineer (Java/Spring Boot): Building reliable backend services, RESTful APIs, and frontend applications for Toyota's dealer and consumer digital platforms with an accent on cloud-native development, microservices, and production-grade financial workflows. Financial Services develops finance and insurance solutions and digital platforms for and Lexus customers and dealers in North America.
What you will do
- Implement features and services using established design and coding patterns.
- Develop and enhance RESTful APIs for dealer and consumer applications.
- Build and maintain UI components using React or similar frontend frameworks.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and testing.
- Support production activities and digital workflows including VDP, PreQual, and pricing requests.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and develop skills in cloud platforms, microservices, distributed systems, and engineering tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience.
- Core development skills in Java and Spring Boot, with experience building REST APIs.
- Basic AWS exposure, including containers, deployments, and logging.
- Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks and an understanding of microservices and cloud-native development.
- Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice to have
- Experience with dealer-centric or consumer-facing digital applications.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or observability tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
- Interest in distributed systems, resiliency, platform engineering, or AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
