TL;DR
Principal Software Development Engineer (C/C++/Golang/Python, Network Infrastructure): Leading the development of carrier-grade broadband access platforms and distributed network systems with an accent on scalability, resiliency, security, and cloud-native architecture. Focus on designing control-plane systems, troubleshooting urgent production issues, guiding software releases, and mentoring engineers.
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite collaboration is preferred

What you will do
- Lead software solution development from architecture and design through deployment and operational support.
- Design and enhance large-scale broadband access platforms, distributed systems, and network infrastructure.
- Integrate applications and improve scalability, security, resiliency, and software upgrade compatibility.
- Analyze systems, monitor performance metrics, create development documentation, and support production debugging.
- Oversee software releases, project planning, resource management, and delivery within schedule and budget.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, vendors, external partners, and internal engineering teams while mentoring technical staff.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on software engineering experience with Linux-based systems using C, C++, Golang, and/or Python.
- Experience with large-scale network infrastructure, broadband access platforms, CMTS/vCMTS, DOCSIS/PON, or similar carrier-grade distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, control-plane architecture, service resiliency, telemetry, and production debugging.
- Experience with cloud-native or containerized environments, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, messaging or event-driven architectures, and configuration or state management systems.
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and troubleshoot urgent production issues.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with 15+ years of relevant work experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with DOCSIS 3.1, DOCSIS 4.0, Full Duplex DOCSIS, CM registration, channel bonding, DBC, load balancing, and cable modem interoperability.
- Experience with cloud-native broadband routers, access network platforms, or packet and network control-plane systems.
- Experience working with cable modem, chipset, RPD, or network equipment vendors.
- Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams or serving as a technical lead or architect.
