Career Development International Student Specialist (International Student Career Development): Delivering integrated career advising, work-search programs, workshops, and resources for international students and alumni at UBC Okanagan with an accent on career education, employer engagement, and cross-campus collaboration. Focus on designing and evaluating career initiatives, advising on resumes, interviews, networking and labour market trends, and building programs with faculties, employers, and student services.
Location: Okanagan Campus, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada
Salary: $7,158.42–$10,292.25 CAD monthly

What you will do
- Provide individual and group career advising for international undergraduate and graduate students across faculties and disciplines.
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate career development and work-search programs, workshops, events, and web-based resources.
- Advise students on career exploration, goal setting, resumes, interviews, networking, labour market trends, graduate school options, and workplace skills.
- Collaborate with faculties, student services, course unions, clubs, and the College of Graduate Studies on customized career programming.
- Engage employers, recruiters, professional associations, and other workplace partners in panels, events, and career development activities.
- Develop program metrics and initiatives that support continuous improvement and student engagement.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Three to four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience advising or instructing clients on career development and work-search topics.
- Experience creating and delivering career-related instructional workshops and programs.
- Strong presentation, public speaking, time management, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and respect for diverse perspectives.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, particularly career counselling or development.
- Certified Career Development Practitioner, Holistic Narrative Career Practitioner, or Design Thinking credentials.
- Experience supporting international, Indigenous, or disabled students.
- Experience with social software and networking applications such as blogs, podcasts, wikis, or Instagram.
- Ability to accommodate occasional evening and weekend events, conferences, workshops, or training.
