Data Engineer II (BigQuery)

Salary: $94,952–$118,690 annually, plus equity opportunities.

What you will do

• Build and maintain SQLMesh data models with incremental strategies, testing, and documentation.
• Improve orchestration, transformation, ingestion, and warehouse infrastructure as the platform scales.
• Modernize legacy Python and SQLMesh pipeline jobs and reduce technical debt.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, resolving ETL failures, data unavailability, and metric breakage.
• Build observability through alert thresholds, metrics, logs, dashboards, escalation paths, and data quality checks.
• Maintain finance-critical pipelines for creator payouts and GAAP-compliant revenue reporting while supporting new revenue streams and product analytics.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience in a production environment.
• Proficiency in SQL, including window functions, CTEs, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for maintainable pipeline logic, data transformation, and testing.
• Experience with SQLMesh, dbt, or an equivalent modern transformation framework, including incremental models, testing, and documentation.
• Production experience with a cloud data warehouse and knowledge of partitioning, clustering, and cost management.
• Experience with Dagster, Airflow, Prefect, or an equivalent workflow orchestrator, plus ownership of features from technical design through delivery.
