Future Project Thermal Engineer

What you will do

• Design conceptual and preliminary thermal control systems for new space systems.
• Define thermal architecture, sizing, and technical solutions in collaboration with mechanical, CAD, systems, propulsion, avionics, and ECLSS engineers.
• Perform thermal analyses to justify design decisions and communicate recommendations through reviews, documentation, and technical presentations.
• Support spacecraft development from concept to operations, including feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, requirements reviews, system design, and milestone documentation.
• Manage procurement activities, supplier evaluation and selection, testing, and validation of thermal hardware.
• Provide operational and post-flight thermal analysis support.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, heat transfer and fluid mechanics, or a related field.
• Experience with thermal analysis, spacecraft thermal environments, and thermal management of structures, avionics, and propulsion systems.
• 3+ years of experience developing and procuring active Thermal Control Systems.
• Hands-on experience with thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, and thermal balance testing.
• Proficiency with Thermal Desktop, ESATAN, and programming or data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Fluent English and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
