Senior AI Engineer

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland; hybrid work model balancing office and remote work.

What you will do

• Prototype, mature, and ship AI-powered capabilities into the cloud platform.
• Design and operate production-grade AI/ML systems, including LLM applications, NLP models, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent systems.
• Make architecture decisions covering model selection, fine-tuning, retrieval, orchestration, infrastructure, latency, and cost optimization.
• Build evaluation frameworks, automated evaluation pipelines, dashboards, and monitoring for production quality and regressions.
• Implement reproducible ML pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and model lifecycle management using AWS or equivalent cloud platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes/ECS.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists while mentoring junior AI engineers and establishing team standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping and operating cloud services in production.
• Hands-on experience with production LLM-powered, ML, or NLP applications, including embeddings, semantic search, retrieval, prompting, evaluation, observability, RAG, or agentic workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Python, AI frameworks, machine learning fundamentals, and MLOps practices such as experiment tracking, automated evaluation, and CI/CD.
• Proven AWS and cloud-based AI deployment experience, with strong data intuition and problem-solving skills.
• Strong English communication skills required for explaining complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience optimizing models for latency, throughput, and cost.
• Experience fine-tuning large language models.
• Familiarity with multi-agent systems and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience designing AI systems in enterprise or B2B environments.
