Head of News (Digital Publishing): Leading and growing an established international news department through editorial strategy, audience development, and performance management with an accent on people leadership, data-driven publishing, and content experimentation. Focus on developing newsroom talent, identifying high-potential stories, A/B testing formats and topics, and improving editorial workflows through AI and automation.
Location: Lithuania, hybrid
Salary: €4,729–€6,611 gross per month plus a performance bonus

What you will do
- Lead and develop an international News team and build a high-performing, collaborative newsroom culture.
- Manage, coach, mentor, and retain editors and content creators while maintaining quality and accountability.
- Own the department’s strategy, goals, KPIs, and overall business performance.
- Identify audience and traffic growth opportunities and turn them into content experiments.
- Develop and optimize content strategy using data, audience behavior, market trends, and platform changes.
- Collaborate with Social Media, Distribution, SEO, and other teams while improving workflows through AI, automation, and new tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading a newsroom, editorial department, content business unit, or similar fast-paced team.
- Exceptional people-management, coaching, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated success improving team or business performance and delivering measurable results.
- Strong knowledge of digital publishing, audience growth, content performance, current affairs, entertainment news, and emerging trends.
- Experience developing content strategies, running experiments, or A/B testing, supported by strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
