TL;DR
Data Scientist (Defence) (AI/ML): Designing, implementing, and supporting AI-driven capabilities within the SitaWare defence ecosystem with an accent on machine learning, agentic workflows, data preprocessing, and feature engineering. Focus on integrating AI services for operational decision-making, collaborating with Defence customers and Data Engineers, and deploying solutions for military exercises and customer operations.
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire, UK; approximately 30% domestic UK travel with some international travel.

What you will do
- Design, implement, and support AI-driven solutions within the SitaWare ecosystem.
- Integrate AI services and agentic workflows to automate data processing and analysis.
- Engage Defence customers and stakeholders to capture requirements and drive adoption.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Intelligence Domain Advisors during experimentation, customer delivery, and military exercises.
- Train customers to use data and AI tools effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Approximately 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist in the software or IT industry.
- Experience developing and implementing machine learning models, including data preprocessing and feature engineering.
- Programming skills in languages, tools, and frameworks commonly used in data science.
- Fluent English and a valid UK Driving Licence.
- Right to live and work in the UK, plus eligibility for UK security checks at SC level minimum; DV is preferred.

- Experience working directly with external customers.
- Knowledge of or experience in the defence or military domain.
