Senior Software Engineer, Android (Mobile Enablement)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end development of Android platform and architectural solutions, from requirements definition through release.
• Design and maintain high-quality Android features, SDKs, shared modules, and platform capabilities used across teams.
• Lead architecture for complex components while improving maintainability, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Optimize application performance, startup time, memory usage, and stability across devices and OS versions.
• Improve code quality through reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, guidelines, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with machine learning, backend, infrastructure, product, design, and Android engineering teams; mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVC, MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with large-scale mobile applications, complex codebases, backend API integration, and asynchronous or concurrent programming.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and explain technical concepts clearly.
• English at Independent level, CEFR B2, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile applications serving millions of users, performance optimization, instrumentation, observability, and crash analysis.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, Baseline Profiles, mobile performance tooling, or open-source Android projects.
• Experience driving technical initiatives across multiple teams or owning platform-level components.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD, automated testing frameworks, Gradle, build systems, and release management.
• Japanese at Independent level, CEFR B2, is optional.
