Senior Compliance Officer / Senior In-House Legal Counsel (Fintech): Developing and reviewing compliance policies, legal agreements, and regulatory guidance for a global payments business with an accent on e-commerce, payment schemes, FCA requirements, and UK and EU legislation. Focus on identifying regulatory risks, leading compliance monitoring, implementing remedial measures, and coordinating with supervisory authorities.
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; hybrid model with 3 days per week from the office and 2 days from home

What you will do
- Develop, implement, and review compliance policies, procedures, and internal acts.
- Monitor e-commerce, payments, card-scheme, and other regulatory developments.
- Provide legal and compliance guidance on products, services, and business activities.
- Prepare and negotiate agreements and other legal and compliance documents.
- Lead periodic compliance monitoring, including planning, coordination, oversight, and implementation.
- Communicate with supervisory authorities and government bodies, and support internal teams with regulatory procedures and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- At least five years of professional experience in e-commerce as a Regulatory Compliance Officer, In-House Legal Counsel, or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and EU legislation, FCA requirements, card-scheme requirements, and payment schemes.
- Experience with Visa, Mastercard, SEPA, American Express, UnionPay, and Discover requirements.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
- Strong organisational, analytical, problem-solving, integrity, and communication skills.
