TL;DR
Industry and Employer Engagement Specialist (Career Development/Education): Building employer, alumni, and industry engagement programs that connect UBC Okanagan students with recruitment, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities with an accent on campus-wide partnerships, event programming, and CRM strategy. Focus on designing and evaluating complex career programs, developing employer relationships, and managing technology platforms that support job postings and mentorship.

Location: hirify.global Okanagan Campus, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada; onsite position

Salary: $7,158.42–$10,292.25 CAD monthly

What you will do

  • Build relationships with employers and alumni in British Columbia and globally to increase student access to career opportunities.
  • Develop and coordinate employer engagement programs, career fairs, speaker series, workshops, and recruitment events.
  • Support employers hiring international students and graduates and act as a key contact for campus recruitment.
  • Lead CRM strategy and administration for job postings, mentorship programs, and employer relationship management.
  • Collaborate with faculty, alumni, employers, and campus partners on experiential learning and career development programming.
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate student staff, co-op students, work-study students, and volunteers as required.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and three to four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience designing, delivering, evaluating, and measuring complex programs and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of employer and alumni engagement, campus recruitment, career development, job-search strategies, and labour market trends.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, employers, volunteers, and community members.
  • Strong oral and written communication, computer skills, judgment, innovation, and ability to work under critical deadlines.
  • Valid British Columbia driver's licence and personal transportation required.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Higher education experience and knowledge of university systems and decision-making structures.
  • Experience with CRM and career management platforms, including Symplicity.
  • Knowledge of CACEE ethical recruitment standards, human rights, labour legislation, and current human resources practices.
  • Additional language abilities.
