Subcontractor Programme Manager

Location: Hybrid role based at either the Gilching or Darmstadt office in Germany. Includes up to 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside the usual geographical area.

hirify.global is expanding its procurement and purchasing teams to manage programmes involving subcontractors and partners in space and related engineering domains.

What you will do

• Lead the establishment and management of programme consortiums, including subcontractor and partner engagement.
• Negotiate contracts and manage execution, commercial relationships, contractual obligations, and payment milestones.
• Oversee programme schedules, risks, deliverables, compliance requirements, reporting, and issue resolution throughout the full lifecycle.
• Provide programme governance and ensure delivery remains on time, within scope, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Support engineering teams with technical requirements, design reviews, validation activities, and technical meetings.
• Coordinate progress reviews, audits, stakeholder engagements, and performance monitoring across subcontractors and consortium partners.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of project management experience covering systems and software engineering within the space sector or similar domains.
• Experience in project or technical management using systems and software engineering methodologies and standards.
• Experience with Space Ground Control or Navigation projects.
• Management and leadership skills, including the ability to coordinate subcontractors and programme partners.
• Ability to understand, review, and negotiate contractual terms.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from either the Gilching or Darmstadt office in Germany.

Nice to have

• PMP or similar qualification.
• Working knowledge of a third EU language, such as Spanish or French.
