TL;DR
Software Engineer (Java): Building and modifying consumer financing software while monitoring real-time errors and resolving system integration issues with an accent on full-stack web development, platform maintenance, and software performance. Focus on researching system logs, deploying defect fixes, directing testing and validation, and collaborating on system design and project delivery.

Location: Mechanicsburg, Cumberland, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid work with required commuting to the nearest hirify.global Hub for in-person meetings, training, and culture events.

Salary: $85,000–$140,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

  • Build, modify, and maintain software to fix defects, support new requirements and hardware, improve performance, and upgrade interfaces.
  • Monitor real-time error notifications, research system logs, assess impact, and deploy remediation fixes.
  • Direct software testing and validation procedures.
  • Lead software programming and technical documentation development.
  • Collaborate with internal groups, partners, customers, and project managers on project status, proposals, system design, and maintenance.
  • Analyze information and recommend installations of new systems or modifications to existing systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle and strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as Spring, Vue, or React.
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript/Node.js server-side platforms.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, and modern CI/CD systems.
