Senior Manager Finance Controller (Project Finance Control)

Location: Brussels, Belgium. Candidates must have the legal right to work in Belgium or be eligible for case-by-case sponsorship and be physically located in Belgium by Day 1 of employment.

What you will do

• Lead the Project Finance Control function in Belgium and develop managers and senior controllers.
• Own financial oversight of a complex project portfolio, including forecasting, revenue, margin, work in progress, cash flow, and risk exposure.
• Lead portfolio reviews, re-forecasting, cost-to-complete reviews, and corrective actions with project and finance stakeholders.
• Strengthen financial governance, audit readiness, SOX controls, compliance, and project financial data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee revenue and cost recognition, management reporting, subcontractor and freelancer accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Manage billing, aged debt, collections coordination, WIP reduction, cash-flow forecasting, and finance transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in project finance, controllership, commercial finance, or financial management in a services, consultancy, or project-based environment.
• MBA, M.Com, CMA, qualified accountant qualification, or equivalent senior finance experience.
• Senior leadership experience managing or functionally leading managers, senior controllers, or geographically dispersed finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of project financial governance, revenue recognition, IFRS, US GAAP, ASC 606, SOX, and internal control frameworks.
• Advanced financial modelling, reporting, analytical, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Strong ERP and reporting systems experience; Maconomy, Power BI, and advanced Excel are preferred.
