What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of chemistry journals, primarily in analytical chemistry, with responsibility for portfolio performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with editors, researchers, academics, societies, and other external stakeholders.
- Oversee journal-related publishing activities and support long-term journal success.
- Drive strategic initiatives, publishing innovation, and portfolio growth.
- Collaborate with publishing colleagues across the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and China.
- Use AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT where appropriate in daily work.
Requirements
- Experience managing academic journals or a journal portfolio is preferred.
- Experience managing relationships with editors or external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of academic journal operations.
- Editorial experience is advantageous.
- Research experience in chemistry or analytical chemistry is valuable; strong subject-matter expertise is not required for candidates with journal management experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, geographically distributed team.
