TL;DR
South North Network SRE Expert (SME) (EVPN-VxLAN): Owning the north-south IP and Ethernet infrastructure connecting an AI GPU cloud across US data centers and international sites with an accent on EVPN-VxLAN fabrics, multi-site DCI, BGP, and internet edge operations. Focus on building intent-driven network automation, encoding route policies and changes as code, and feeding network health data into AIOps remediation workflows.
Location: Remote within San Jose, California or Austin, Texas

What you will do
- Own EVPN-VXLAN data center fabrics supporting multi-tenant isolation and workload mobility.
- Design and operate multi-site DCI overlays and underlays connecting four US data centers and international sites.
- Manage BGP, OSPF, ECMP, VXLAN, IP transit, peering, WAN, and internet edge infrastructure.
- Operate Arista, Cisco, and Palo Alto network equipment across spine-leaf, perimeter, and tenant-facing environments.
- Build network automation with Ansible, Terraform, Nautobot or NetBox, and Python/Netmiko.
- Define monitoring, capacity planning, architecture documentation, standard configurations, and change procedures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data center network engineering experience with hands-on EVPN-VXLAN deployments.
- Strong expertise in eBGP/iBGP, route policies, communities, traffic engineering, OSPF, and ECMP.
- Experience designing and operating multi-site DCI with EVPN multi-homing.
- Proficiency with Arista EOS and/or Cisco NX-OS in spine-leaf data center environments.
- Experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls, IP transit provisioning, internet peering, QoS, and network capacity planning.
- Experience moving network operations from ticket-driven changes to intent-driven, executable automation and runbooks as code.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating network telemetry with AIOps systems and network-stability prediction.
