Head of IT & Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; hybrid with 3 days working from home per week. The role also includes an option to work fully remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 30 days every six months.

What you will do

• Lead onboarding and offboarding, hardware and asset management, network operations, identity and access management, vendor management, and endpoint administration.
• Architect corporate-system integrations in collaboration with Revenue Operations, Data, and Platform teams.
• Own SOC 2, finance-related security, partner, and integration compliance audits, including audits involving Amazon, QuickBooks, Google, and Xero.
• Develop information security policies, standards, procedures, and AI governance controls with People & Culture and senior leadership.
• Manage the enterprise security stack, including cloud security and endpoint protection tooling such as Wiz and CrowdStrike.
• Oversee penetration testing, vulnerability remediation, security escalations, legal coordination, and internal security awareness training.

Requirements

• 5+ years leading IT operations or security functions, including directing information security work through a team.
• Experience managing and developing technical specialists and working with senior stakeholders.
• Accountable ownership of a SOC 2 or equivalent compliance program, including audit preparation, control design, and remediation.
• Working knowledge of AI governance, security controls, cloud security posture management, and endpoint detection and response.
• Experience overseeing third-party penetration testing and prioritizing remediation of findings.
• Strong external security escalation, vendor management, budget management, and technical risk communication skills.
