TL;DR
OnStar Connected Operations Engineer (Databricks): Building executive dashboards, reports, and data access solutions for GM telematics information with an accent on Databricks analytics, SQL and Python automation, data storytelling, and secure user experiences. Focus on optimizing data models and query performance, investigating end-to-end system and customer experience issues, and developing remedies for complex operational problems.
Location: Mexico City, Mexico; hybrid with on-site attendance at least 3 times per week. Travel required at approximately 15–25%. Relocation benefits are not provided.

What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain executive dashboards and reports using Databricks SQL and visualization tools.
- Develop scalable data analytics and data access solutions for GM telematics information.
- Collaborate with data engineers to define and validate optimized data models.
- Investigate system performance and customer experience issues using root-cause analysis and data-driven technical judgment.
- Configure role-based access and data security for dashboards and semantic models in line with GM policies.
- Monitor and tune report and query performance while recommending improvements to data models and dashboard design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science, business analytics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as an analytics/report developer, BI developer, or data visualization engineer building production dashboards and reports.
- Advanced English, with excellent communication and storytelling skills for senior and executive stakeholders.
- Hands-on Databricks experience for analytics and reporting, with strong SQL and Python skills.
- Experience building and managing Power BI dashboards and visualizations.
- Strong collaboration skills across data engineering, architecture, product, and business functions.
