Senior Feature Animator (Stylized Animation)

Location: Vancouver, Canada; hybrid with 2–3 days onsite and occasional work from home

Salary: C$112,200–C$143,600 per year, based on a 40-hour work week

What you will do

• Bring stylized characters and whimsical creatures to life through high-level performance, acting, and musical timing.
• Execute direction from the Lead Animator and Animation Supervisor.
• Own complex shots and key sequences from initial blocking through final animation while maintaining stylistic consistency.
• Supervise entry-, mid-, and mid-high-level animators as assigned by the Animation Supervisor.
• Attend dailies, provide production feedback, and contribute to aesthetic solutions.
• Train and mentor new animators and provide technical assistance to show supervisors.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant professional feature animation experience plus a college-level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, photography, or a related field; alternatively, 7 years of relevant feature animation experience in lieu of education.
• Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production, and compositional design.
• Exceptional animation skills demonstrated through a portfolio, demo reel, shot breakdown, or references.
• Expert knowledge of Maya, proprietary software, and other relevant software programs.
• Knowledge of chaining and constraint techniques, with strong organization and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Linux is desired.

• Experience with stylized animation or musical features.
