Remote PHP / Laravel Developer

Location: Remote; applicants welcomed from around the world. Working hours should be similar to 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Salary: $17–$35 per hour for candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado. Compensation may vary by experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize custom PHP and Laravel websites and web applications.
• Convert PSD designs into pixel-perfect, responsive web pages.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs with JSON responses, authentication, and versioning.
• Integrate data across WordPress, Salesforce, QuickBooks, Sage, APIs, ERP, and stock management systems.
• Resolve cross-browser compatibility issues and write clean, structured, well-documented code.
• Support multiple projects in a LEMP environment using version control systems such as Git or SVN.

Requirements

• Expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, and CSS3, with strong Laravel development experience.
• Knowledge of MVC, object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, Eloquent ORM, Blade, routing, middleware, and Composer.
• Experience with database design, migrations, query optimization, relationships, and RESTful API development.
• Understanding of web security practices, including SQL injection, XSS, CSRF mitigation, and secure authentication.
• Testing experience with unit and feature testing using PHPUnit or Pest.
• Excellent written and spoken English and availability for working hours aligned with Pacific Time.

Nice to have

• Portfolio with live links to previously developed websites or web applications.
• Experience with WordPress, Magento 1/2, Vue.js, React, or the TALL stack.
• Deployment experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean.
