Senior Rust Blockchain Engineer

Location: Remote, with occasional onsite opportunities during offsite sessions

Building a next-generation decentralized exchange with a fully on-chain order book for institutional-scale Japanese equity trading in partnership with SBI Group.

What you will do

• Architect and implement the on-chain order book and matching engine in Rust.
• Design exchange-specific execution logic, including risk checks, account management, and state management.
• Develop protocol components covering state transitions, consensus, validator interaction, and transaction-processing pipelines.
• Integrate oracles, bridges, and external data providers with a focus on correctness and resilience in adversarial conditions.
• Optimize execution latency, concurrency, gas efficiency, and overall throughput through benchmarking and stress testing.
• Build and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites.

Requirements

• 5+ years of systems programming experience, including 3+ years with Rust.
• Experience building trading platforms, execution engines, or decentralized or centralized exchanges.
• Contributions to Rust-based Layer 1 protocol projects such as Solana, Cosmos SDK, or Substrate.
• Deep understanding of distributed computing, consensus algorithms, peer-to-peer networking, and high-performance data structures.
• Strong knowledge of decentralized trading models, including on-chain order books, AMMs, and hybrid architectures.
• Ability to independently design and implement complex, production-grade systems.
