Junior AI/ML Engineer

Location: Remote; legal residence in Portugal required

What you will do

• Build and deploy generative AI applications such as chatbots and agents.
• Develop traditional machine learning solutions for time series forecasting, AdTech, computer vision, and related use cases.
• Improve and scale MLOps pipelines for model training, inference, and serving.
• Develop Python APIs and work with cloud, containerization, search, observability, and LLM frameworks.
• Deliver hands-on project work with rapid feedback and measurable impact under senior mentorship.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including OOP, Git, concurrency, and parallelism.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Understanding of LLM system design, including RAG and agents.
• Knowledge of ML system design, pipelines, and training and inference techniques.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Nice to have

• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or an equivalent field.
• Experience from jobs, internships, or other non-academic projects.
• Previous LLM project experience.
• Exposure to SageMaker, Bedrock, or Vertex AI.
• Experience working in large codebases.
