Location: Hybrid position in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with visits to the client site in Northern Virginia as needed.
Salary: $89,649–$152,404 per year

What you will do
- Provide strategic communications counsel for program operations, messaging, and recognition.
- Manage editors, web publishers, graphic designers, and communications staff, including workload distribution, performance, and deliverable quality.
- Advise senior government leadership on communications strategy, priorities, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support strategic planning and execution across functional areas and align work with organizational priorities.
- Identify operational risks and resource constraints, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Lead coaching, mentoring, and professional development for a multidisciplinary communications team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- U.S. citizenship required by federal contract.
- At least seven years of professional experience, including advising senior government staff at GS-15 level or above.
- Experience writing varied communications products and creating and executing strategies and plans.
- Strong communications, collaboration, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, or a related field.
- Experience supporting project management, external communications, editing, and web publishing.
- Understanding of cross-functional and matrixed organizations.
