Communications Associate, Transportation

Location: Hybrid work based in Rockville, MD, Washington, DC, or Reston, VA; candidates must live within the Washington Metropolitan Area and be able to commute to an office as needed.

Salary: $67,063.00–$114,008.00 per year

What you will do

• Contribute to communications plans and engagement strategies for transportation clients.
• Develop newsletters, fact sheets, videos, case studies, social media content, emails, and website materials with designers, editors, program teams, and clients.
• Coordinate project workflows, deliverable trackers, timelines, progress reports, and meeting materials.
• Support strategic plans, presentations, events, meetings, and workshops.
• Manage multiple deliverables and deadlines using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional marketing communications experience.
• Knowledge of traditional and social media, digital and paid media, events, outreach, and direct-response channels.
• Understanding of email management systems, content strategy, analytics, and platforms such as GovDelivery, MailChimp, Constant Contact, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of marketing analytics platforms such as Google Analytics.
• Excellent writing, communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration skills; a writing sample is required.

Nice to have

• Transportation communications or marketing experience.
• Willingness to travel moderately as needed.
